Next Week’s Message: Love does not Envy ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4c
Next Week’s Message:
Love Does Not Envy
I Corinthians 13:4c
The Bible is clear and most people agree that envy is a sin. The challenge is that envy is easy to hide. If a man staggers into church with alcohol on his breath, or a woman curses in anger in the foyer, everyone knows about it. That kind of behavior is clearly sinful and unacceptable.
But we can sit through a church service with a false piety envying everyone around, and nobody but God knows our sin. Envy is a sin that can be easily hid! In our study of 1 Corinthians 13, we come to the third characteristic of love where Paul says that love does not envy. Next week we will talk about this most subtle of sins and try and provide some guidelines for gaining victory over it.
