A WORK IN PROGRESS
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.(2 Corinthians 3:18, NKJV)
How many times have we heard this phrase, “Please be patient, God is not finished with me yet.” Even as an octogenarian, I recognize I am a work in progress!
During my engineering career and in particular my industry I became familiar with process engineering. The process to make a given product which in turn meant it was able to meet customer specifications. As the procedures improved, a better product resulted.
I found 2 Corinthian 3:18 gave me the process I needed for being transformed to the image of Christ. As I invest time beholding the glory of the Lord through Bible study and prayer, the better will be the product God receives at the end of my life. When His work in me is complete, God will call me into His presence.
To spend time with Jesus, beholding His glory,
This my ambition; this is my story.
Studying the Bible, talking with God.
Learning the lessons found in His Word.
The process of beholding Him results in a better product when God calls us home.
- What specific steps must we take to behold the glory of God?
- How do we become ready for the time God calls us home?
- What happens when we fail to spend time with Jesus?
