A Father's Farewell Charge
Today is Father's Day and as with this past Mother's Day, I’m going to give a message not just intended for the fathers in our church, but everyone present.
At the beginning of the book of 1 Kings, the story opens with King David on his deathbed. Although he had managed to rouse himself long enough to appoint Solomon as his successor, David was still dying.
Knowing that his end is near, David calls for his son Solomon to come and he gives him a farewell charge. The directives are an interpretive challenge but there are some profound lessons for all of us to learn. You will not want to miss this message!
This Father’s Day we also recognized some of our special fathers present with some special surprises. Apple Pie any one.
If you are unable to attend, you may watch the service on-line at our YouTube channel.
