Dear Precious Saints of MBC,
This morning after spending some time at the church, Connie and I visited Jo Harris who is just days away from heaven. She sat there on the couch with her head down, in obvious pain. Connie asked, "What are you thinking about?" She said: "Heaven!"
During this difficult time let's remember the words of Paul from Colossians:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
(Colossians 3:1-4)
Read those words again - slowly - deliberately - reflectively. Let the truths sink in. What an encouragement those truths are in these challenging and difficult days. The events of today cannot only be endured, but we can triumph, when we remember that heaven is where our citizenship lies. Heaven is home!   Please understand, I'm not minimizing the seriousness of these days - but God is in control.
Let me remind you of three important matters:
#1 This Sunday we will meet - not in our building - but on line through the wonder of the Internet. From YouTube, you will be able to access both music and the message. We will have the links available from the churche's website. More specifics tomorrow - Saturday. I'm looking forward to sharing with you an encouraging message from God's Word!
#2 Please continue to pray. Remember to pray for one another, and when you do, pray for our global partners who are also feeling the impact of COVID-19. And pray for our leaders - our president, our governor, and our mayors, who are all experiencing something they haven't experienced before. Ask God to give them understanding, insight and wisdom for the important decisions they need to make that will impact so many.
#3 Finally, let me encourage you to continue to give to support the ministries of our church. You may give online through our church's website at www.MidvalleyBibleChurch.org (it's really simple) or mail your gift to the church office: PO Box 936. Bluffdale, Utah 84065
I look forward to sharing with you this Sunday.
In the light of His glory and grace,
Pastor Doug
