Next Week’s Message: Father Abraham Had Many Sons... Galatians 3:6-9

The Churches in Galatia were being targeted by false teachers who taught that
Galatian Christians had to be circumcised according to the Law of Moses in order to
be saved. Paul’s argument against such teaching is an appeal to the man who was
the father of the Jewish nation – a man these “Judaizers” claimed as their father -
Abraham.

Paul is going to make the compelling case that Abraham was declared righteous by God before he was ever circumcised. Abraham’s righteousness was not on the basis of his moral obedience or circumcision but on the basis of faith.

That means that our means of justification was also his. Next Sunday, we will look
at this compelling argument. We will also be observing the Lord’s Table, so
please prepare your heart for that act of worship.
