Then the LORD said, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV

As a writer, I’m always trying to become better; to learn from other capable writers and their experiences, histories and styles. This is why I’ve been a long time member of the Utah Christian Writers Fellowship (UCWF) has been very helpful in refining my writing skills. A typical meeting consists of local individuals of diverse backgrounds, stories and abilities.

The fact that the group is Christian prevents presentation of anything that contradicts the Bible, although many presentations do not have a biblical foundation. Most have prepared something that demonstrates the present state of their writing skills. Advanced writers are able to critique grammar, spelling, and sentence structure many times resulting in a more polished document.

Each meeting is concluded with fellowship and often refreshments. Through over twenty years of participating in the Utah Christian Writers Fellowship I have honed my writing skills and have several publications to my credit.

Our goal is the same that the LORD gave Habakkuk: to communicate in such a way that our message is uncluttered (plain) and may be grasped quickly (that he may run with the message after reading it). (Habakkuk 2:2).

As we write, let’s write for God.

Describing the path that we have trod

Let’s get feedback from those we know,

God’s Word in the hearts of others sow.

UCWF helps me make my message clear, concise, and communicable.
